ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Karwan Ensemble has performed on several stages and festivals showcasing the folk and classical music styles of Afghanistan, India, and other neighboring regions. They seek to enchant and educate audiences of the beautiful, mystical nature of Afghan music especially in a time where music is banned in their home country. Preservation by performance is the core tenant of their existence and Natalie rounds out the trio’s efforts with her training and expertise in the dance forms of the region. Her expressions and interpretations of the melodies and rhythms add the missing visual aspect to the soundscapes created by Karwan Ensemble.
